Dream Signs
Dream Signs and Lucid Dreaming
Lucid dreamers learn how to recognize dream signs in order enter a fantasy world within their minds. These fantasy worlds satisfy anything their hearts desire, with no limits and no consequences – all while sleeping peacefully.
A lucid dream, also known as a conscious dream, is a dream in which you are aware that you are dreaming. Lucid dreamers strive for the awareness that nothing experienced in the dream is real, and therefore, there is no reason to fear any precarious situation within that dream. Lucid dreams are thus far more vivid than normal dreams and can seem as real as any waking experience.
Lucid dreams appeal to many people in a number of different ways, including:
- Living out fantasies
- Practicing creative problems solving
- Role-playing important life situations
- Stopping nightmares
- Creative or artistic inspiration
- Personal or spiritual exploration
How to Recognize a Dream Sign to Induce Lucid Dreaming
A lucid dream begins when a person can question the reality of a dream sign. Dream signs include any situation, place, person or object that appears in a dream. Dream signs most often take the form of things or events that would be considered impossible or highly improbably in the waking world. Examples of dream signs include:
- Breathing under water
- Flying or taking unusually long jumps
- Oversized or undersized objects or people
- Purple skies, green cats, etc.
The first step to inducing a lucid dream is to recognize personal dream signs and log them in a dream journal. The next time you encounter a dream sign in your sleep, challenge the reality of that sign, recognize it as a dream sign and strive for a full state of awareness to induce lucid dreaming.
