In U.S. homes, apartments, businesses and offices, beg bug infestation is climbing at an unbelievable rate. Bed bugs are also now surfacing in restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, bars, movie theaters and within public transportation including subway stations and buses. It seems that no matter where you go today, there is just no avoiding bed bug infestation.
The bed bug problem in America also surfaced recently in high schools in Scranton Pennsylvania, local office buildings in Chicago including the J.P. Morgan Chase Tower and even in prominent local landmarks in New York City including the Empire State Building, Bloomingdale’s and the Lincoln Center.
In response to the recent bed bug phenomenon, authorities now claim that the bed bug infestation in the U.S., which has not been an issue for nearly 75 years, is a result of bed bug immunity and increased resistance to pesticides, including the well-known synthetic pesticide, DDT. DDT is also an illegal substance, making it even more difficult to keep these creepy crawlers under control.
